Having a dream is a powerful thing:
OneWay Church wants to see everyone come to know the love and life-changing power of the One and Only Living God, the Creator and Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
Our church is built on 4 core pillars:
Above all other pursuits, we foster a passion for God and His glory- individually and corporately. We call all people of all ages and backgrounds to a life of joyful surrender to Him as our act of spiritual worship. (Rom 12:1-2)
We are committed to charging elders to help shepherd every single person in the church to realize their full potential in Christ, bearing much fruit that glorifies the Father and gives them enduring joy. (John 15)
Our elders shepherd and protect a growing, open armed family where everyone is accounted for and everyone loves each other deeply. (1 Peter 4:8)
We have an urgent and intense focus on the advancement of God’s kingdom locally and globally, and devote our resources of time, talent and finances to spread the Good News. (Matthew 28:16-20)
Our vision for OneWay Church:
First and foremost, our desire is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. We want this to shape our life as a church body and as individuals. It must be the focus, the source and the motive for everything we do. It’s a tall order for an “imperfect church”, but that’s our goal because we believe it pleases Jesus.
“One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” Matthew 22:35-37
When asked the greatest commandment, Jesus didn’t just stop with loving God. He went on to say that the second greatest thing we can do is to love others. As a church, we long to be a fellowship that embraces each other with the tangible love of Christ. And we want to love not only those in our midst, but people down the street and around the world– anyone that God loves. It’s a tall order for an “imperfect church”, but that’s our goal because we believe it please Jesus.
“And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:35-40
Make Disciples Worldwide:
We want to follow Christ’s command to make disciples of all peoples, teaching them to obey everything He commanded. We want to see them alive in their relationship with God, reaching their full potential in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” Matthew. 28:20
